ATTORNEY RICH PFEIFFER SPEAKS ABOUT CURRENT COURT STATUS AND UPCOMING POSSIBILITIES FOR LESLIE VAN HOUTEN
"Friday Nov 11- Leslie's attorney's office communicated to Leslievanhouten.com today about the recent court actions with a brief recap- Pfeiffer's insight and thoughts on what's next for Van Houten and her diligent defense team.
"Well, it’s been interesting indeed. We lost at the first court (Superior) then again at the second (Appellate). Because of the misconduct and proven untruthfulness of the District Attorney's office, as you know we filed a petition for review (Habeas Corpus) with the California Supreme Court replied and said the Attorney General or District Attorney has to respond and explain how the governor’s reversal was based on current dangerousness (the Lawrence standard, which Leslie passes with flying colors). The Attorney General has only until 11/23 to respond, then we respond, and the court will have a decision by 12/30
If we win, that is, if they don’t feel the governor followed the law, then they will tell the court of appeals to give an order to show cause. So it is really positive, but not a slam dunk. I feel good about it, because it's further than she has ever gotten before. Leslie is very happy with all of this"
On a side note, also mentioned was Patrica Krenwinkel's hearing date next month (on 12/30/16) They feel there is a zero chance for Pat to even get a recommendation; but adds it should be an interesting read, according to Pfeiffer.
